My 1st Grader and Pre Kindergartener
The boys have started school. Alex's first day of 1st grade was yesterday. I'm proud of him for handling everything so well. He is in a new school of course and doesn't know any kids, but he is very mature about it. All of the kids were talking and playing with their friends as we waited for the doors to open. He turned to me and said, "I'm shy." My sweet boy...I'm sure he'll make friends soon.
Remy, on the other hand, was ready to go. He was the first in line and seemed to be very excited. There are only 9 children in his class (only 3 boys). They come out holding hands at dismissal...it was so cute. He is not a morning person however, and I'm hoping that he does not start giving me trouble once the novelty wears off.

Remy
Our Remy Louis...still quite a character. He has matured a great deal and is usually a very sweet boy. Remy always says, "Good morning, mom." He likes a goodnight kiss and hug. When I pick him up from school, he always says that he missed me. He thanks his friends for playing with him. Then, there's the boy with the temper who says "I'm not anyone's friend!" as he slams his door. The little boy who hits and most recently pinches his big brother. The Remy who knocks over his baby sister (although he usually likes to tell everyone that Sophie is his baby and she's so cute.) We love our Remy and know his sweet side will eventually win.

Alexander
-
Look how much our boy has grown! No trace of baby anymore. He has matured alot this past year...learning to ride his bike and playing outside with the other kids on post. His reading is coming along nicely...he did very well this year in Kindergarten. His teacher had nothing but wonderful comments about Alex being well-liked by his classmates and always working hard. She also noticed that he's developing quite a sense of humor. Alex is looking forward to the upcoming move (and visit to Louisiana). He still wants Mama to tuck him in at night...hope he doesn't outgrow this too soon.

My First Post
I decided to start blogging as an easy way to keep in touch with family and friends. Check in periodically for updates. We're still awaiting "official" orders, but all paperwork has been turned in and we're hoping to fly 16 July (the military has gotten to me...I actually prefer to write my dates this way now).
Alex and Remy are both sick right now...pretty sure Remy has pink eye. He says, "Mom, I don't have pink eye. I have brown eyes." It's been a rainy and cold weekend here in Garmisch. We're glad to have Adam here for Father's day.
I recently got a new digital SLR camera and really like it!! Here are some of my favorite pics so far.
